UArizona Sustainability Fund Supports Action Projects
Lizbeth Perez, Intern Support Specialist for The Bio/Diversity Project, and Elena Greenberg, Senior Program Coordinator, were recently awarded a mini-grant from the UArizona Sustainability Fund to support action projects carried out by Bio/Diversity Project interns this semester. Funding will enable Lizbeth and Brittanie Hoang (another Intern Support Specialist with the program) to help interns develop and carry out pollinator conservation focused projects at local schools. Projects include building and installing bat boxes and bird feeders and building pollinator gardens. These projects provide interns with the opportunity to build project management and leadership skills, while simultaneously engaging K-12 students around issues of biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship. Special thanks to the UArizona Sustainability Project for supporting this project!
