Launching the WISE Mentorship Program
On Saturday September 25, 2021 WISE launched the third cycle of the Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The mentorship program works to connect UA women STEM students with faculty, staff and industry professionals. Our goal is to empower UA STEM students and connect them a supportive community of both within and outside of the UA.
At the program orientation and training, mentors and mentees received an orientation to the program, training on how to successfully engage as a mentor or mentee, and mentor/mentee pairs were revealed. Throughout the year pairs will meet monthly and are given a discussion guides to support their work together. This year we are excited to pair over 90 University of Arizona students with mentors from across campus and in the community. Mentee participants come from across 10 different UA colleges and included undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students. Thank you to all the mentors and mentees participating in our 2021-2022 cycle and to Raytheon Missile Systems whose support makes this program possible.
