Girls Who Code aims to close the gender gap in technology and computer science by offering free coding classes for students in grades 6-12 on Saturday afternoons from September to April in the UArizona Main Library. To learn more about Girls Who Code national organization, see their 2022 Annual Report.

Participants learn the core4 skills (loops, conditionals, variables, and functions) and how technology can be used to address real world problems, all while building relationships with young women and allies interested in computer science. Club programming is designed with the interests and experiences of girls in mind, but welcomes participants of all gender identities. The program does not discriminate on the basis of gender.

If you are a UArizona student interested in volunteering as a club facilitator or a parent interested in enrolling your child, please email sumurphy@arizona.edu to learn more or considering subscribing below to receive our news and updates.
