Spring 2024 Internship Opportunity with The Bio/Diversity Project

Application Deadline 10/1

The Bio/Diversity Project brings together the combined efforts of the Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE) at the University of Arizona, Saguaro National Park, and the Friends of Saguaro National Park to diversify the environmental fields and provide environmental science outreach education to underserved K-12 schools in metro-Tucson.

Interns in the Bio/Diversity Project are paired with local K-12 teachers and serve in Title I schools to teach culturally responsive, place-based, and hands-on environmental science curriculum focused on the biodiversity of the Sonoran Desert. Students are hired at $15/hours for a commitment of 10 hours per week throughout the semester-long internship. UArizona students can elect to receive 3-units of academic credit through any of 23 different academic departments. Weekly internship workshops and assignments help equip interns with the skills necessary to develop curriculum and teach through an equity lens.

The Bio/Diversity Project internship application and more information can be found on our website at: https://biodiversityproject.arizona.edu/
