According to the 2009 U.S. Census, women constitute 50% of the general workforce, and only 25% of the STEM workforce. About half as many women pursue STEM careers as would be expected in other careers. That is why for over 40 years, WISE has been inspiring young girls ages K-12 to pursue careers in science, technology, mathematics and engineering. Every year, WISE offers a range of programs aimed at piquing student interest in STEM and providing the support needed to help girls and women enter and persist along their STEM journeys and into the workforce.  

These once-in-a-lifetime opportunities would not be possible without our valued donors. Donations directly fund professional development and networking events, mentorship programs, internships, and educational outreach with K-12 students.
